Microchip Cat Flap Fitting in Dubai: Your Cat In, Everyone Else Out

cat_flap_microchip_3d

A microchip cat flap reads the identification chip under your cat’s skin — or an RFID tag on the collar — and unlocks only for that cat. The neighbour’s tabby, the bold stray from the next villa, and every uninvited visitor get a flap that does not move. Power Eagles LLC fits and fixes microchip flaps across Dubai: new installations in wooden doors, glass panels, and walls; repair and reprogramming of units that have stopped reading; and upgrades from old manual flaps. We program to your cat’s chip, set the entry modes you want, and test with the real cat before we leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will any microchip cat flap read my cat’s chip?
Pet microchips are typically ISO 11784/11785 fifteen-digit chips and most quality cat flaps read them. Older or non-standard chips may need an RFID collar tag instead. At the survey we check your cat’s chip type against the flap recommended — or fit the collar-tag version if there is a mismatch.

Why did my microchip cat flap stop recognising my cat?
Three usual causes: a weak battery makes the reader cut out; the implant has migrated slightly under the skin, shrinking the reader’s sweet spot (common and harmless); or registration was wiped during a battery change. Re-registering usually fixes it — we test all three before assuming the unit has failed.

Can a microchip cat flap be fitted into a glass door?
Yes, but not by cutting your existing glass. Toughened glass cannot be cut after tempering, so the panel is templated and a new one manufactured with the flap opening, then fitted sealed. Wood and aluminium doors take a direct cut and are fitted same-visit.

How many cats can one microchip flap register?
Most quality flaps store a dozen or more chip IDs, so several household cats — and a foster — fit easily. Many models also set per-chip entry modes, so one cat can be restricted to daytime in-and-out while another stays free.

What happens to the flap when the batteries die?
Battery-powered flaps do not depend on mains at all, so a house power cut is irrelevant. If the flap’s own batteries run low it typically unlocks into a free-swing mode so your cat is never trapped out or in — we confirm the fail-safe behaviour for whichever model you choose.

Can you repair my existing cat flap instead of replacing it?
Often yes — re-registration, cleaning, hinge and lock-motor replacement, new covers, and re-sealing are all on-site repairs. Bring the make and model (or photograph the label) and we check whether it is worth fixing before recommending a new unit.

Do you supply the cat flap or do I buy it?
Both work. We supply and fit models we trust for Dubai conditions, or install a unit you bought, provided it suits the door material and your cat’s chip type. Supply-and-install keeps everything under one warranty; tell us your preference when booking.
